The Rallye Breslau race started in Poland on Monday. In them, two speed sections were waiting for the participants one after the other. As it turned out later, the racers had to deal with considerable navigational challenges in them. CFMOTO Factory Racing Team members did not avoid minor mistakes, but kept the vehicles in good shape and will continue the fight.
Even before the start, the team's racer and manager Antanas Kanopkinas said that the most important thing would be not to make the mistakes that accompanied the team in the first stages of the race in this competition in the previous year. However, this time the tradition could not be changed - the first day was marked by wandering in the dust and losing precious minutes.
"We made enough mistakes in the first speed section that we now have four more days to correct them. We got lost, we lost time. Our classic start. As always, we rise from the bottom up. I really enjoyed the second speed section. Difficult navigation, but a very great speed section. The ATVs withstood it, we are preparing for tomorrow, "said Antanas Kanopkinas.
Part of the track was driven by Antanas Kanopkinas together with another ATV rider of the team, Adomas Gančierius. By the way, Adomas started in the Breslau rally after a hand injury he suffered in a rally race in Albania a couple of weeks ago.
"I haven't driven anywhere since Albania, I've been healing my hand, but I'm still in pain. But today things went well. Apart from one navigational mistake that cost fifteen minutes, there were no major mistakes. There was less navigation in the second speed section. 200 participants had already passed there, all that was left was to fly and watch the road book. Still, I had a blow in the hand in the second kilometer, so I had to slow down a bit. If I drove 100 percent in the first speed section, then in the second one maybe only about 75 ", - said Adomas Gančierius.
Darius Biesevičius and Audronė Kanopkinienė, a duo competing in the SSV class, also managed to overcome both speed sections. They had one more serious moment on the track when the buggy was already riding on two side wheels, but the crew managed to get out of the situation. True, Audronė Kanopkinienė was a little surprised by one decision of the organizers. Instead of a road book on a roll , they gave out road books that are distributed to car crews.
"The first day of the rally is over. It went well enough. We had one navigational mistake in the first speed section, but after about 15 minutes we found our way. The buggy withstood, although the conditions were difficult. Lots of pits. We were especially careful about rivers because our equipment doesn’t like water very much. We made no mistakes in the second speed section, we almost rolled in one place, but Darius managed to save the buggy. I think the result will be good.
The difficulty is that all SSV class participants received simple hand books, not the “rolls” we are used to. We'll think of something, maybe cut and glue the book into a "roll". We will see, but so far the decision of the organizers is a bit dissapointing, "said Audronė Kanopkinienė.
Three more speed sections await the participants of the Breslau Rally on Tuesday. Two of them will take place during the day, one - at night.
